still wild and sparsely inhabited, local people who lived by forest gathering often spoke of the saying: \u201cFirst, the tiger of Ba Na; second, the ghost of Phuc Tru.\u201d Therefore, villagers worshipped sacred deities and the goddesses known as \u201cBa\u201d to pray for peace and safety in their lives. According to French doctor Albert Sallet, this \u201cLady\u201d was described as a benevolent goddess, revered by women and known as \u201cHoly Mother.\u201d<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"797\" data-end=\"1190\">When the French began exploring Ba Na \u2013 Nui Chua, they also respected local beliefs and built the Lady Shrine in 1931. Even during the wartime period, the shrine remained untouched, carefully preserved by the forest dwellers.
